Putting together the base was fairly straightforward for me. At no point did I feel that I had to overtighten the screws in order to keep things from wobbling. The one glitch is that (in English, French, and Spanish) the instructions for assembling the base have the labels for the front and the rear switched, so that the pedestal is alleged to be closer to the front of the base than the rear, contrary to what published photos of the assembled product indicate. I don't know if this mislabeling is what has given people problems with the base, or if Samsung used to ship worse-fitting hardware than it does now. In any case, I'm glad I didn't let the complaints about the base hold me back from purchasing this item.

I've owned this set for less than 24 hours, but perhaps some initial impressions will be helpful to other shoppers:

1) I spent over half an hour wandering through an electronics megastore comparing pictures and I have to say that I couldn't detect any advantage of 1080p over 720p for sets of this size. (I assume that a store this big was feeding in some 1080p content, but I could be wrong.) At home, over-the-air 720p and 1080i content looks great on this set.

2) While the LED sets are sleeker than the LCD sets, I didn't think that the LED picture was any better. Both I and one other customer in the store were vacillating between the Samsung UN32D4000N and this set, and we both ended up opting for this one.

3) Some review sites represent these LCD sets as having narrow viewing angles. To my eyes, that was far from true, as almost every set in the store had a picture that was easily viewable from far to the side.

4) Buyers' guides imply that we all now need sets that are twice as big as the sets we were buying a few years ago. In particular, a 32-inch set is all of a sudden considered far too small for a living room. Well, I think this set looks good in my living room. It's nice not to have my house look like my life revolves around television viewing.

5) If there's a way to have this set memorize channels from two different antenna positions, it wasn't obvious to me. Fortunately, on my 3rd or 4th try I was able to orient my antenna so that the set located all my local channels on one scan.

6) At this set's current price, you run very little risk of buyers' remorse.

Samsung LN32D450 Excellent picture quality, mediocre audio at best.
Cons:
1) As noted in other reviews attaching the stand to the television is challenging and will require much more force than you would believe necessary.
2) Owners manual is not very thorough nor are instructions very clear
3) Attaching the securing strap(not included) on the back of the televsion to your stand involves creativity & parts of your choosing, as there are no instruction.

Pros:
1) Excellent video quality for 720P/60Hz
2) Attractive / aesthetically pleasing appearance
3) Nice menu layout and features
4) (2)HDMI's & (1)USB

For anyone experiencing problems with the picture quality this television has a built in picture & audio test. To implement the test(s) you will need
to press;
1)The Green Menu Button near the center of the remote
2)Use the UP arrow to scroll UP one to where "Support" is displayed vertically along the left edge of the set
3)Arrow to the RIGHT Once
4)Arrow DOWN once to "Self Diagnosis"
5)Press Enter or the button in the middle of the four arrow keys
6)Select Either "Picture Test" or "Sound Test"

The picture test displays two children on a beach surrounded by some beach toys, it displays very vibrant colors, blues, oranges, yellow as well as strong sunlight contrast
to check the black and white balance of the set. My test image appears incredible.

The sound test plays some type of theme song music that I personally find annoying yet it also provides very clear, stereo sound and does so at the volume level your set is
set to at the time of the test.

Unfortunately because the owners manual is so lacking it takes time to learn all the settings and adjust them appropriately. Yet once you have the picture quality of this television
rivals any 32" television I have ever seen, bar none.

Samsung LN32D450 Great.
Coming from an LNT4061, LNT4069, and, most recently, an LN40A650, I'd happy to say that this TV has yet to disappoint. The Samsung quality is all there and it feels considerably evolved from the previous generations I've owned. I'm using this as an office monitor and television - for both occasions, it's a terrific set. The colors are vivid, the sound is crisp, and I have yet to experience any issues with it. I'd also note that this television, while considered the entry level for 2011, is slightly thinner and substantially lighter than other 32" models within the Samsung product lineup and other companies' models within the same price range. There ARE thinner and lighter 32" TV's, but you'll spend an additional $150+ just for the size difference. This was a deciding factor in my case, since I wanted an easily wall-mounted TV without breaking the bank. I'd highly recommend this particular model for anyone looking for a bedroom/office television. It's just the right quality and size at just the right price.

Samsung LN32D450G1D Good Product at Good Price.
This is my first Samsung LCD TV.
I compared features and price with Sony, LG, Sharp, Panasonic and decided on this one.
It is good TV. Size is right for my bedroom. I would not recommend buying smaller than 32 inch.
Screen is clear and set up was easy as well.
Many buyer complained of base assembly so I took extra caution...and no problem
I was little disappointed that this model did not come with swiveling base...I assume because of size.
Colors are clear...I do see some unnatural movement sometimes. Not sure if it is because I watch smaller screen at close distance, or it might be limitation of 60Mhz refresh rate.

Design is great...beautiful. Although thickness is quite a lot and it is somewhat heavy.
Sound is just so-so...I understand its limitation but could be better.
Remote control is worse than other Samsung or my Sony...It just looks cheap and unorganized.
This TV has touch sensitive buttons on front. Great design and simple detail but not easy to use especially in the dark or by seniors
One great feature! USB connection that you can play movies directly! You don't need to connect to PC! Amazing!!!

Samsung LN32D450G1D Good enough.
Not a professional to review the electronic background of the TV however I love the USB function. It works perfectly with any USB drive.The tv is easy to set up. The price is reasonable cheap compared to other products in the market. It was my first Samsung I don't think it will be last..

Samsung LN32D450G1DXZA Very nice.
Just received this product in the mail today and so far I'm very impressed! Purchased for my beach house living room, which is pretty small, so this tv is the perfect size! Seems as though it would be far too big for a bedroom, but I'm old fashioned and enjoy TV's that don't take up an entire room. I did initially have an issue with the wobbly stand (as others had said). I couldn't get the screws to tighten enough and the tv was leaning forward and easily moved in directions it shouldn't have. After unscrewing the screws and screwing them back in with incredible force, they tightened just fine and the tv no longer wobbles to such an extreme degree. Right out of the box the picture and sound are perfect. Set up is easy and hook ups to dvd players, etc are just as easy! This is an amazing tv at this price--you won't be disappointed.

Samsung LN32D450G1DXZA A good TV
this is an excellent TV at a very good price. I bought one for our bedroom and it is just right for our 10X15 foot sized room. I bought it because we were very pleased with a 47" Samsung we recently purchased for our family room. I don't see any major difference in this 720ip picture and the larger 47" at 1080ip. Not every program is broadcast at 1080ip.

The TV has enough adjustments to fine tune your picture to your conditions and preferences. The big complaint about the stand being difficult to install is easily resolved by using a Philips head screwdriver with a big enough handle to put some muscle into tightening the screws. They are a little hard to tighten but once tightened they are as solid as a rock, the stand does not swivel but at less than 20 pounds turning the TV is no big deal.

I bought it from Amazon vendor Electronic Express and the product arrived on the promised date with no problem.

The USB port is a great feature. You can put 2 movies on a 2gb memory module. So far it plays every movie format I have tried. Amazing.

Samsung LN32D450 Best Price, Really fantastic tv set!

I purchased an LN32D450G1 from Bestbuy by chance that it was on sale. I wasn't looking for it specifically it just became my decision after spending 30 minutes in the store judging all the HDTV's comparatively. The Samsung was my choice as the Sony 32inch Bravia I was planning to get was out of stock. This set is centered in my living room and it looks great. It fits in so well almost like a furniture piece with the the plexiglass covering Samsung put around the edges. Assembling the T.V. only took about 10 minutes as I spent about 6 of them just looking for a screw driver. After that everything is plug and play.

The T.V. has lots of options for viewing and you can customize it really to suit what ever you like. There's more than enough features for me. It sounds perfect and I wasn't expecting that from an HDTV. I thought the sound quality would suffer because it's a flat panel but it really does sound just fine. With the features of the set I feel like I really got a deal with the Samsung. DVD's look decent as well. I only have the RCA DVD input for now so I can't be too judging. I never owned a Samsung before as I've always used Magnavox sets but they aren't what they used to be. So far I'm happy and hope to get good service out the T.V. if not that's what the 4year warranty I brought is for.

Samsung LN32D450 Best Buy, Great TV for those who want basics.
Our used TV went out and we bought this one to replace it in our living room. We got rid of cable and have (unsucessfully) been using a converter box and an old TV. We didn't need anything fancy, though this TV has about every input you could ask for. It took about 15 minutes to set up and another 10 to do a channel scan for our antenna. Amazingly our channels now come in crystal clear! The picture and audio are both great and the remote is easy to use (though it's a bit long). You can easily customize your screen's picture and audio. Very happy to purchase this one!

Love, love, love this television. It has a great sharp picture and beautiful color. The size is perfect for our bedroom. I had a swivel stand that I placed it on since it does not come with one. I had no problem assembling the base of the tv at all. Samsung also was extremely helpful helping me set it up. It only took a few minutes and I was up and running. I have Dish network and a Samsung DVD recorder and wasn't sure how to set all of it up. That's why I called Samsung and they could not have been nicer!
